Dreams and Surrealism AI Videos with Seedance 2.0: How to Create Impossible Content

The territory of dreams and surrealism has no physical constraints. These prompts explore impossible physics, lucid dreamscapes and reality-bending concepts.

Every other genre in the Seedance 2.0 Prompt Bible is constrained by some version of physical reality. Sci-fi imagines the future but follows its own rules. Horror happens in real places. Fashion exists in the real world. Only dreams and surrealism are truly unlimited — and that unlimited territory is exactly where Seedance 2.0 produces its most extraordinary output.

The Two Principles of Surrealist Prompts

Principle 1: Apply the impossible rule consistently. The most effective surrealist prompts have internal logic. If words become physical objects that fall to the floor in your world, they do so consistently. Establish the impossible rule, then follow it without exception. The world is wrong in a specific and consistent way.

Principle 2: Describe the normal reaction to impossible things. The most unsettling surrealism is when impossible things are met with normal reactions. The person in a room filling with water who continues reading their book. The commuter on the sideways train checking their phone. That normalcy within the impossible is the essential key.

8 Surrealist Prompts to Create Right Now

Falling Dream

The classic falling dream, a figure falling through impossible sky, the city below changing as they fall, each look down showing a different city, the ground never arriving. Wide falling, dream sky. Universal dream, physics suspended, familiar terror made beautiful.

Mirror World

Stepping through a mirror into a world where everything is reversed, left is right, familiar places arranged as their own opposites, the reversed world otherwise functioning normally. POV through mirror, reverse light. Reflection lived in, mirror crossed, familiar made foreign.

Ocean in the Sky

An ocean existing above the clouds with waves and fish and currents, the earth visible far below through the water, a boat sailing through the sky-sea, its crew unconcerned. Ultra-wide impossible, sky ocean. Inverted ocean, physics corrected the wrong way.

Room Filling with Water

A room slowly filling with water from no source whatsoever, the objects beginning to float upward toward the ceiling, the person inside continuing to read as if this were a minor inconvenience. Static wide, rising water. Surreal domestic, impossible met with ordinary patience.

Dream Shop

A shop that sells only things you have lost over your lifetime, each item recognisable and half-forgotten, the shopkeeper knowing what you are looking for before you do. Interior warm, discovery light. Lost things recovered, dream economy, the shopkeeper who knows.

Words Made Solid

Words spoken in conversation becoming physical objects that fall to the floor, honest words heavy and dark, kind words light and luminous, an argument visible as a pile of objects between two people. Interior surreal, word physics. Language materialised, the weight of what we say.

Transparent People

A world where people become transparent when they lie, the social consequences profound and comic, honesty the most practical choice available. Wide social transparent. Truth as transparency, lie as visibility, the social contract made literal.

The Lucid City

A city where all the residents know they are dreaming and have begun redesigning the city in real time, new buildings appearing, old ones changing, the city becoming what people actually want it to be. Wide lucid city. Collective lucid dream, conscious redesign, the city we would build if we could.
