My Morning Briefing Agent — How I Start Every Day with a WhatsApp Message
Every morning at 7:30am, my phone receives a complete briefing: weather, calendar, emails, news. Here is exactly how it works and how to build it yourself.
The morning briefing automation was the first thing I built after connecting OpenClaw to Telegram. It is also the one I use most consistently — 100 days later, it still runs every morning and the day feels measurably more organised when it arrives.
Here is the exact setup.
What the Briefing Contains
Every morning at 7:30am, I receive a structured message covering: current weather and the day's forecast for my city, all Google Calendar events for the day with times and locations, a list of unread emails flagged as important or requiring action, and the top three technology news items from the past 24 hours. The whole message takes about 90 seconds to read and means I start every working morning with a clear picture of the day.

Setting It Up
First, install the required skills:
openclaw skills install weather-alert
openclaw skills install email-manager
openclaw skills install calendar-assistant
openclaw skills install web-search
Then send your agent this message once (substituting your city and channel preference):
Schedule a daily briefing at 7:30am every weekday.
Include: current weather for London, my Google Calendar
events for today, unread emails flagged important,
and top 3 tech news headlines.
Send to me on Telegram.
OpenClaw saves the schedule, requests the necessary permissions for calendar and email access, and runs the briefing automatically from the next day.
Customising Your Briefing
The briefing is completely configurable. You can add your top task for the day (pulled from a Notion database or a Google Task list), include a motivational quote, add cryptocurrency or stock prices, include a weather forecast for a city you are travelling to, or summarise any RSS feed or newsletter that arrives overnight.
The agent learns your preferences over time. After a few weeks of feedback ("remove the news section" or "add my Airtable tasks"), the briefing adapts to exactly the format you find most useful.
