The Real-Time Intelligence System — Never Miss What Matters Across Your Business
How to build the multi-source intelligence system that captures events from Stripe, HubSpot, Google Analytics and industry news — and surfaces only what actually needs your attention.
Most businesses run on information fragmented across a dozen different systems. A critical payment fails in Stripe. A key prospect opens your proposal in HubSpot. Traffic spikes for an unexpected reason in Google Analytics. A competitor announces a major product change in the news. Each of these matters — but they arrive in different places, at different times, with no unified view of what is actually significant.
The Architecture
Four webhook receivers capture events in real time from Stripe, HubSpot, Google Analytics (via scheduled fetch — no native webhook) and NewsAPI. Every event passes through a Claude classification step that categorises it as Critical, Significant or Routine. Critical events trigger an immediate Slack alert. Significant events queue for an hourly digest. Routine events feed the weekly intelligence report.
Building the Event Classifier
The classifier prompt receives the raw event payload and your business context. It returns a JSON object with: classification (Critical/Significant/Routine), one-sentence summary, why this matters for your business, and recommended action if any. The classification threshold should be tuned to your specific context — a $50,000 failed payment is Critical for most businesses but may be Routine for a high-volume enterprise.

Pattern Detection — The High-Value Addition
Individual events are useful. Patterns across events are strategic. Add a Pinecone vector store that indexes every significant event. When a new significant event arrives, retrieve the 5 most similar historical events. Pass both to Claude with the prompt: "Given this new event and these similar historical events, identify any patterns or trends that are strategically significant." This transforms individual alerts into strategic intelligence.
The Weekly Intelligence Report
Every Friday at 5pm, aggregate all significant and critical events from the week. Claude synthesises them into a structured strategic briefing: key developments, patterns identified, recommended actions, events to watch next week. This report goes to leadership as a formatted HTML email. It replaces the 2-3 hours a week someone was previously spending manually reviewing dashboards and news sources.
