The SCAMP Framework: How to Write Perfect Seedance 2.0 Prompts Every Time
Stop guessing. This simple framework produces cinematic AI video consistently and reliably.
Most people approach AI video prompts the same way they approach a Google search: they type a few keywords and hope the algorithm figures out what they mean. With Seedance 2.0, that approach produces results that look exactly like what they are: guesswork.
The SCAMP framework changes everything. It gives you a repeatable structure that consistently produces cinematic results because it mirrors the way real film directors think about shots.
S — Subject
The subject is the main character, object or scene of your video. The key is specificity. The more detailed your subject description, the more detailed the output.
Not just: a warrior. But: a battle-scarred female warrior in aged iron armour, her face calm despite the chaos around her, a single braid of silver hair across her shoulder.
Not just: a city. But: a megacity of impossibly tall towers connected by sky bridges, the lower levels shrouded in permanent smog, the upper levels bathed in golden light above the clouds.
C — Camera
Camera direction is the most overlooked element in AI video prompting and the one that has the most immediate impact on quality. Always specify your shot type and camera movement.
Shot types: extreme close-up, close-up, medium, wide, ultra-wide, aerial, overhead, POV.
Camera movements: static, slow push-in, tracking, dolly forward, orbital, handheld, crane, tilt up, pan across.
A — Atmosphere
Atmosphere sets the scene. Include the setting, time of day, weather and any relevant environmental details. The atmosphere is not background. It is a character in your video.
M — Mood
Name the emotion explicitly. Seedance 2.0 responds to emotional direction and will shift its aesthetic choices to match the mood you specify. Melancholic. Triumphant. Terrifying. Serene. Electric. Sacred.
P — Palette
Color grading and light source are the final layer. Name your light source explicitly. Golden hour backlight. Neon sign rim light. Clinical fluorescent. Bioluminescent ambient glow. Candlelight and shadow.
SCAMP in Action
Without SCAMP:
A warrior in a forest.
With SCAMP:
A lone samurai standing motionless at the edge of a bamboo forest at dawn, morning mist curling around their feet, cherry blossoms falling from the trees above. Static wide shot from low angle. Sacred, pre-battle stillness, inevitable. Cool blue-grey dawn light with single shaft of warmth breaking through the canopy.
The difference between those two prompts is the difference between a generic output and a cinematic moment.
Your SCAMP Checklist
Before submitting any prompt to Seedance 2.0, ask yourself: Have I described the subject in detail? Have I specified a camera shot and movement? Have I set the atmosphere and location? Have I named the mood explicitly? Have I described the light source or color palette?
If the answer to all five is yes, your prompt will produce cinematic results.
