The SCAMP Framework Vol.4: Mythology, Carnival, Music, AI and Food Prompts

Each Vol.4 genre uses the SCAMP framework differently. Here is exactly how to write cinematic prompts for each one.

By now the SCAMP framework is your foundation: Subject, Camera, Atmosphere, Mood and Palette. Vol.4 introduces five genres that each require a specific approach to these elements. Understanding the genre-specific nuances transforms good prompts into great ones.

Mythology: Play It Straight, Include the Bureaucracy

The comedy and the depth of mythology prompts come from playing the situation completely straight. The minotaur is navigating the subway. That is the fact. Add the specific modern obstacle — paperwork, professional licensing, insurance claims — and the collision between ancient power and administrative reality creates content that is simultaneously funny and profound.

A dragon working in human resources, their hoard of performance reviews extensive, their conflict resolution occasionally involving smoke, their annual salary review the most feared in the company. Office documentary, corporate light. Mythology corporate, accumulated data as hoard, smoke as emphasis.

Carnival: Capture the Transition Moments

The spectacle itself is everywhere. The transition moments are yours. Name the sonic environment — the specific rhythm of the bateria, the sound of 70,000 people watching the Man burn — to shape the visual atmosphere even without audio.

The float maker at 3am on carnival eve, surrounded by feathers and sequins and a deadline that is absolute, the float almost ready but not quite, the work continuing. Documentary intimate, workshop night. Craft under deadline, the making behind the spectacle, 3am as the true carnival.

Underground Music: Document, Don't Direct

Include the context around the music — the conversation in the car park before, the 3am diner after, the flyers being photocopied. The culture is as much what surrounds the music as the music itself.

A band after their first ever gig, the debrief in the car park, the things that went wrong and the certainty about what they will become, the night cold and the adrenaline still running. Documentary intimate, car park night. First gig aftermath, band becoming, what was learned.

AI Future: Ground the Philosophical in the Specific

Show both what technology enables and what it costs. The prosthetic limb that gives back a life. The surveillance system that reduces crime and changes what it means to be innocent. Both things, simultaneously, without resolution.

A predictive policing system that has reduced crime by 40 percent in a neighbourhood, the residents divided between those who feel safer and those who have lost something they cannot name. Documentary community, divided. Safety gained, freedom changed, the cost uncountable.

Food: Name the Sensory Detail and the Human Story

Name the specific sensory detail — the sound of the knife, the steam rising, the smell visible in the dog's reaction. Then find the human story. The food is the context. The person is always the subject.

A ramen shop whose broth has been simmering continuously for 40 years, the chef explaining what lives in the broth, the regulars who have eaten here for thirty of those years listening without surprise. Intimate kitchen, broth steam. Living tradition, continuous cooking, 40 years as ingredient.
